The following are answers to some frequently asked questions:

How do I trigger loops to start/stop playing/recording?

The primary trigger sets the beginning and ending points of the first loop of a scene, defining the pulse for the scene. Unlike most loopers you may have used, pressing the primary trigger while loops are playing, does not start or stop playback or recording. Loopidity is always recording. Also, tracks may be muted and/or deleted at any time; but the active scene is always playing some loops, as long as there is a pulse. The primary trigger only sets a flag, which will signify whether the current buffer will be saved or discarded, when the end of the loop is reached. It is a bit non-intuitive at first, as i do not know of any other looper which works this way; but it is extremely convenient for hands-free use, once you become comfortable with that workflow.

eg:

  • Except for the first loop, you can press the trigger as many times as you like, before the end of the loop and it does nothing special. Only at the end of the loop, is the color of the frame important.
  • The frame could be yellow for the entire loop duration, and switched to red only at the very last moment before the loop end, and the entire segment will be saved.
  • The frame could be red for the entire loop duration, and switched to yellow only at the very last moment before the loop end, and the entire segment will be discarded. The resulting state is equivalent to the frame being red at the loop end, and then pressing the 'Undo Trigger' (except that you would hear the first instants of the new loop playback before it was deleted).
